Wardrobe Upgrade: Boots
One of the easiest ways to upgrade your style is to start wearing nicer shoes. And in the fall and winter, the easiest way to accomplish this is by wearing boots. Most guys are not really aware of all the options: dress boots, casual boots, Chelsea’s, chukkas, cowboy boots. If you’ve never been a boots guy, do a little research and find a nice pair you like for this cold season.
In my opinion, chukka’s are a really good intro into boots as they are still somewhat casual and go great with most of your autumn wardrobe (jeans, chinos). If you’re looking for something a little more bold though, don’t underestimate how nice a pair of jeans or chinos looks with some stylish cowboy boots. If you’re from somewhere that cowboy boots aren’t too common, I guarantee it will be a conversation starter and you will get compliments. Just don’t overdo it and end up looking like John Travolta in Urban Cowboy.
What to Watch: Formula 1 at Circuit of the Americas
Growing up, I never really watched Formula 1 racing. I’ve been to several NASCAR races and they are incredibly fun, but just never had any interest in F1. That changed though when I finally got around to watching the 2021 season series of Drive to Survive on Netflix. Incredibly entertaining. This weekend’s race is at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. Max Ver Stappen had already locked up the championship for 2022, but can Mercedes finally get their first win of the year?
What to Make: Chili
The leaves are changing, there is a slight chill in the air, and what better way to spend a cozy weekend afternoon than by making a big pot of chili? It’s the perfect comfort food that warms you from the inside out. With endless variations from spicy to mild, meaty to vegetarian, you can customize your chili to your liking. Whether you decide to serve it with cornbread, over rice, or with a dollop of sour cream and shredded cheese, you can’t go wrong with this classic dish in October.
